The Facilities Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing all facilities and facilities maintenance, including systems supporting production activities (air handlers, air compressors, clean room certification & maintenance, generators, phones, etc.). The Employee will oversee the activities of the Warehouse & Shipping Manager which include: all incoming supplies receipt, inspection, inventory maintenance, and shipment, in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices, international requirements, and shipments in accordance with the IATA and the DOT.
§ Assigning contractors or other professionals to fix any problems that may occur.
§ Oversee all vendor relationships specific to shipping such as Federal Express, UPS and customs brokers.
§ Complete any investigations or CAPA (corrective actions plans). Responsibilities may include the writing of, or assisting in the writing of, SOPs and/or specifications, troubleshooting facilities equipment issues, interfacing with customers and/or auditors and maintaining maintenance and service contracts with various service providers.
§ Undertake periodic site visits and inspections on all health and safety matters, including preparing a detailed report.
§ Serve as Safety Officer; promote a safety culture of excellence through leading by example, coaching, and mentoring facility employees on safe practices. Hold monthly safety meetings.
§ Assists in the development of Safety and Environmental Programs.
§ Assist management in defining hazardous operations, designating safe practices, and selecting personal protective equipment.
§ Prepare and perform a facilities audit on a scheduled basis.
§ Develop safety training plans and programs, conduct training courses, and make available information or other resources on occupational health and safety.
§ Advise management on codes, regulations, and standards, and give advice on achieving compliance.
§ Assist in the collection of environmental metrics/environmental recordkeeping.
§ Assist in industrial hygiene and SDS Management.
§ Prepare packages and documentation for shipping in accordance with applicable regulations; Properly receive and check in packages in accordance with regulations and SOP’s.
BS or other 4-year degree in a technical or business field, preferably Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or closely related field.
EH&S certification highly preferred
Minimum 5 years directly-related experience as the primary leader of an EH&S department within a manufacturing environment.
