Purpose and Scope This position will manage the overall functions in the facilities mechanics shop. This position will also assist in performing general facility and grounds maintenance and landscaping in order to improve the overall appearance of the Beck facility. Work involves the responsibility for safe efficient operation of motorized equipment such as backhoes, mowers, trimmers and other types of power equipment. Responsibilities Maintain the company\u2019s inventory of general hardware, supplies, and parts for facilities vehicles and equipment. Manage the ordering process of supplies of parts for routine maintenance and special repairs on facilities vehicles and equipment Perform repairs\/maintenance of facilities assigned vehicles and equipment Perform annual DOT inspections on facilities assigned vehicles if certified to do so. Otherwise responsible for scheduling at a preferred automobile shop Manage the shop work schedule to reflect the priorities set by the Grounds Keeping Manager Assist as needed with in-field repairs and maintenance Maintain accurate service records on all vehicles and equipment Maintain supply of necessary tools Perform any other jobs necessary to help make Beck\u2019s operation a success Assist in maintaining the grounds, landscapes, trees, walkways and steps throughout the facility Operate a backhoe or dump truck in trenching, filling or other minor excavations as needed by grounds keeping or other facilities departments Operate mowers, trucks, trailers and other hand tools and hand powered equipment while landscaping Care for established lawns\/landscapes by mulching, aerating, weeding, removing thatch as well as trimming and edging around flower beds, walks and walls Provide proper upkeep of driveways and parking lots Assist in snow and ice removal in winter months Repair\/Maintain company-wide ATVs\/UTVs. Priority will be determined by the Grounds Keeping Manager. Develop an overall preventative maintenance program for all facilities equipment. Goal is to minimize downtime of equipment by catching issues prior to major breakdowns. Perform other related duties as may be required by the Grounds Keeping Manager. Job Requirements 1. Education and training: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required Must possess and maintain a valid driver\u2019s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck\u2019s automobile insurance policy. 2. Technical knowledge: CDL preferred with Chauffer license or equivalent required Welding skills. Trouble shooting skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and iOS systems. Diesel mechanic skills. Core mechanical skills. Planning and Organizational Skills Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing Small engine experience\u00a0 Auto experience Heavy equipment experience 3. Travel and hours of work:\u00a0 Overnight travel is required based on project needs at Beck\u2019s regional locations and may vary in duration of time. 4. Physical demands: Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds unassisted. Must be able to pass DOT physical examination and obtain Medical Examiner\u2019s Certificate.\u00a0 5. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years experience in repair and shop maintenance of equipment and trucks.
