The facilities engineer is responsible for planning, designing and managing surface facilities and infrastructure projects. These projects include but are not limited to: production facilities, pipelines (single phase and multi-phase), and salt water disposal facilities. The facilities engineer works with and indirectly leads a team of vendors, field construction staff, field operations staff, drafters and technical experts to achieve safety, production, and cost related targets.
Work closely with EHS&R to ensure environmental, safety and regulatory compliance requirements are met.
Process Flow Design: Use process modeling simulation to design and optimize separation trains from wellhead conditions to custody transfer specifications based on input from reservoir, drilling, production and completions.
Accurately size and specify production facility equipment.
Work with the Supply Chain department to ensure the proper equipment and materials are procured and delivered on time for installation.
Implement Engineering Safety Controls:
Develop and maintain engineering pressure class and service specifications
Work closely with the instrumentation & controls group to develop cause and effect diagrams to manage process upsets
Participate in multi-disciplinary PHAs and HAZOP analyses for new processes and equipment to identify hazards and institute engineering controls
Facility Layout and Life-Cycle Location Planning:
Optimize facility spatial layout and process piping to minimize frictional losses and maximize separation efficiency
Utilize modularity and standardization to manage costs while planning for current and future development
Employ green-field modeling and network analysis to plan for centralized tank batteries, salt water disposal and associated pipelines
Facility Handover and Operational Support:
Participate in pre-startup safety reviews and facility handovers to ensure all equipment and safety devices are functioning properly
Create as-built construction documentation and BMPs/SOPs to support production operations and lease operator training
Use management-of-change protocol to document engineering process improvements
Trend and analyze SCADA data to validate engineering models and process conditions
Provide construction management support to the construction superintendents and foremen.
Participate with other engineers in establishing design standards, material specifications, and best practices.
Perform field audits and reviews relating to safety and production processes.
Proper selection and implementation of winterization solutions for process equipment and piping.
Proper material selection for equipment and piping.
Education and Work Experience:
2-5 years of engineering and project management experience
Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or similar) from an ABET-accredited program
Experience with an independent Oil and Gas Company preferred

Software used includes the following: Basic MS Office(Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), Peloton Products (SiteView, WellView, RigView), Process Simulation Modeling Software (such as VMGSim, Aspen HYSYS, etc.), AutoCAD or CADworx

Travel may be required for assignments, meetings, and training.
The job also requires availability for rotating on-call schedule, occasional unscheduled call-outs and extended workdays and/or workweeks.
