Description of Responsibilities:

Laulima Government Solutions is looking for a qualified Facility
Technician / Manager to support mission functions of the Zahl Physical Sciences Laboratory (PSL)
Adelphi Laboratory Center (ALC).
The Technician/Manager will:
Use service manuals and parts list for tear down, assembling units, and organization/work schedules
Lead work involved with System Cabinets; Compatible Notifier and System Sensor Equipment; Transmitter Wiring, Operation, and Calibrations
Provide thought leadership in the creation of various diagrams: product; compatible equipment; connecting power sources and outputs, loop control and expander modules; wiring a signaling line circuit (SLC); battery checks/maintenance; calculated recommendations; cabinet mounting dimensions; equipment replacement installation; installation and warranty drawings
Adhere to installation precautions that result in problem-free installation with long-term reliability. Precautions may include, but are not limited to: WARNING - Several different sources of power can be connected to the fire alarm control panel; Verify that wire sizes are adequate; Disconnect AC power and batteries; removal of all electronic assemblies; do not tighten screw terminals; this system contains static-sensitive components; equipment must be correctly programmed and installed to suit the specific application; etc.
Carry out routine and preventive maintenance
Prepare daily work plan schedule for preventive maintenance
Report daily routine activities as per schedule
Support fire alarm areas such as: preparing installations; wiring and signal line circuits (SLC); testing systems - operational, battery checks and maintenance; electrical specifications - operating power, SLC loops, wire requirements; cabinet and mounting installation and replacement.
Use computer instrumentation for diagnostic, orders, inventory, etc.
Answer phones, schedule appointments, keep inventory of equipment and supplies, and respond to customer inquiries and comments
Investigate and predict different reactions and side reactions with the release of gases
Learn new safety and lab techniques especially when dealing with toxic and combustible gases
Improve data recording, safety, and maximize the ability to run trials at the same time
Inspect all construction sites, enforce safety compliance, including: flammable and combustible storage, fire extinguishers, means of egress, gas cylinder storage, machine guarding, appropriate PPE, slip, trip & fall hazards, spill containment and electrical hazards
Provide oversight of work performed with Mil-Ram gas detectors
Provide subject matter expertise on gas detector work related to: features; installation; transmitter wiring; transmitter operations; diagnostic messages; relay modules; external alarms and devices; rain/splash/RF shield; sensor calibrations; self-calibration; remaining sensor life
Maintain of a quality program to verify work requests are performed in accordance with customer standard operating procedures (SOPs)
The primary mission of United States Army Garrison, Adelphi Laboratory Center (ALC) is to provide valuable support services and infrastructure to enable scientific research, development, and well-being of the workforce. ALC serves the Soldier and collaborates with Army science and research by providing excellent lab facilities and support services.
Must possess Bachelor's degree in facilities related engineering or architectural field with 5 years relevant experience in DOD or Industrial Technology-OSHA Industry in the last 10 years
Possess a government license to use a fork lift in order to move equipment
An active TS/SCI with Poly is required and updated SSBI is required
Required Skills and Experience:
All Contractor personnel performing under this requirement must possess a minimum of a secret level security clearance
Demonstrated experience with Gas Alarm, Detection, and Fail-Safe procedures
Demonstrated experience with Toxic and Combustible Gas Systems
Familiarity with Mil-Ram gas detectors, Honeywell/Notifier converters and controllers, specifically the AFP-3030
Experience with system components such as: Central Processing Unit (CPU) with Power Supply; Keypad/Displays; SLC Loops; Network Connections; Annunciators; Audio Systems; Mass Notification Systems
Knowledge of Notifier Compatible Equipment: Annunciators; Network Control Modules; Gateways; Detector/Sounder Base; Field Modules (FlashScan, and Clip); Detectors (FlashScan, and Clip)
Must be citizens of the United States, either native-born or naturalized
Desired Skills and Experience:
Skills in Toxic Gas Monitoring Systems (TGMS)
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to team with industry partners
Work exposure on Honeywell Fire & Gas Safe guarding system (PLC).
Knowledge about Instrumentation, electrical, communication Drawings
Demonstrated experience with project and construction estimating
Demonstrated track record of adhering to tight schedules with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Ability to manage multiple and competing resources
Knowledge of federal, state and local building and safety codes
Must possess outstanding oral and written communication skills
Experience with MS Project or equivalent scheduling tool
Experience in schedule analysis
Working knowledge of the Facilities Condition Index/Assessment model
Must have a DoD Secret Clearance.
