Mechanical Engineer/Facilities Planner
Engineer - Facilities Planner provides mechanical engineering project management expertise to manage major recap projects and building renovation projects and review engineering drawings for any changes to the government's facilities. The incumbent responsibilities include:
Overseeing and coordinating operations, maintenance, repair, engineering, and inspections of all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing equipment, and mechanical rooms.
Directing and coordinating activities with the trade shops, including prioritization of work, review of ongoing projects, and inspection of installed equipment.
Managing, processing, and coordinating mechanical work orders, service orders, and projects.
Developing cost estimates, documents, and reports.
Coordinating energy program and analyze utility costs.
Additional Engineer - Facilities Planner responsibilities include but not limited to:
Reviewing electrical and mechanical engineering drawings for any changes to the government's facilities.
Overseeing and coordinating electrical and mechanical engineering work orders, service orders, and projects.
Conducting quality assurance reviews of on-site Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contractor on behalf of the government.
Inspecting equipment including facility mechanical and electrical systems.
Serving as essential personnel in the event of an emergency.
Working nights and weekends, as required, for operational necessities.
Traveling domestically or overseas for the Government, as required.
: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university; registration preferred.
: Engineer in Training (EIT) and Project Management Professional (PMP) Certifications.
U.S. Citizenship with valid, current State Driver's License and U.S. Passport.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in mechanical engineering.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project management, cost estimating, and operating and maintaining HVAC, plumbing systems, and mechanical systems
Experience with working in a classified environment.
Experience in using AutoCAD, managing major building renovations and recap projects, and conducting reviews of engineering drawings
Experience in coordinating activities with architecture, engineering, real estate, construction, and space planning efforts, and all clients.
Experience in Managing major building renovations and recap projects.
Experience in conducting reviews of engineering drawings.
Have a proven record as an effective administrator and to communicate at all organizational levels.
Experience in supporting and managing major recapitalization (recap) projects and building renovation projects.
Experience in coordinating activities with architecture, engineering, real estate, construction, and space planning efforts, and all customers
Experience in coordinating operations, maintenance, repair, inspections for all equipment and mechanical rooms.
Have demonstrated efforts to continue to develop professional licenses, certifications, and expertise through formal training and on-the-job experience

Function in an office environment in a stationary position approximately 50 percent of the time or more.
Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine and printer.
