The Facilities Maintenance Engineer II will have a new and different work environment every day, they are also granted a good work-life balance through Anoka County. The Anoka County Facilities Management and Construction department\u00a0has an opening for\u00a0the Facilities Maintenance Engineer II position who will operate, repair and perform preventive maintenance duties on equipment at a variety of Anoka County facilities. EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY): Maintains heat and air conditioning systems through the building automation system; cleans condenser coils; performs preventive maintenance as needed following a preventative maintenance schedule; adjusts and replaces belts; checks flame detection devices, climate controls, boiler readings, water temps, water usage; works with engineers in the annual tear down inspection and cleaning of boilers. Replaces light bulbs; performs maintenance on exit lights, emergency lighting, and related equipment; runs generators on the weekly test procedure and records the results; repairs and maintains security systems; keeps doors and door hardware in good working order, including hinges, door closers, and door handles; maintains lock and key security and lock systems to include building security; performs periodic maintenance on air compressors, fans, pumps, and outdoor equipment, including changing oil, belts and filters; maintains maintenance records; Maintains piping and drain systems in good working order; cleans and snakes drains; maintains drain cleaning equipment; repairs and replaces plumbing fixtures, flushometers, faucets, leaking pipes, and drains; Moves office furniture and equipment; raises and lowers work surfaces, flipper doors, and cabinets; repairs office furniture, including drawers and slides, hang bulletin boards and pictures; performs carpentry, plastering, painting, wallpaper repairs, ceiling tile replacement, carpet repair and removal; Maintains and operates county parking ramp; operates snow blowers, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, weed whips, and related tools and equipment; maintains walkways, including snow removal, spreading salt, trimming trees, and shrubs, and landscape maintenance; repairs and replaces irrigation sprinkler heads and performance of annual fall maintenance of this equipment; REQUIREMENTS: Required High school\u00a0diploma or equivalent; two years of related experience including experience in the operations of a boiler. Possession of a 2nd Class Boiler's License Must possess valid Driver's License. Must be available for 24-hour on-call duty as assigned per rotation; able to work in a secure environment (County jail and correctional facilities); and successfully complete criminal and Driver's License check. Knowledge of: Principles of HVAC, electricity and plumbing. Ability to: Operate HVAC equipment; operate hand and power tools; repair and maintenance of various security systems; perform general electrical and plumbing repairs; perform tasks involving prolonged standing, pushing, pulling, climbing and stooping; work outdoors in all weather; climb and work on ladders, scaffolding and roofs. Skill in: Following written and oral instructions; delivering excellent customer service. GRADE LEVEL: Salary Anoka County Salary Schedule, Grade B009. Normal hiring range: $36,296 to $37,377 ($17.45 \u2013 $17.97 per hour). 2018 full salary range: $36,296 to $55,265 ($17.45 to\u00a0$26.57 per hour). After successful completion of an initial hire probationary period, eligible for a 5% probationary period increase. Promotion opportunities available. Hours Full-time; 40 hours per pay week. Work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Schedule may vary based on business needs and at supervisor discretion. On-call 24\/7 for one week approximately once every 16 weeks. Selection Process The examination\/selection process for this classification will consist of a rating of your training and experience from the application materials submitted.
