Description Lead a facilities management team in support of student success goals and University Residences' brand. Functions include maintenance, housekeeping, communication, problem solving, customer service, communication, and planning. Facilities portfolio may include residence halls, dining facilities, and other University Residences space. Work collaboratively with residential life, administration, and dining units to lead assigned neighborhood. Find solutions to complex problems involving people and buildings, sometimes under ambiguous and time sensitive circumstances. Implement and ensure success of University Residences' neighborhood-focused organization structure. Deliver a clean, safe, and well-maintained residential facility conducive to the academic mission of Purdue University. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Leadership\/Supervision, Technology, Business, Logistics, Hospitality\/Tourism, Psychology, or other related field. Three\u00a0years experience in facilities operations, general management, or residential life supervising clerical, service, or administrative staff. In lieu of a degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience. Strong communication, interpersonal and intercultural relations, curricular development and decision making skills. Competent in financial management, coaching\/leading others, and strategic thinking. Must be able to demonstrate success in process review and improvement; to include challenging the status quo, championing change and effectively influencing others to change. Must posses technical competencies in general maintenance, housekeeping, sanitation methods, government compliance and safety. Functional competencies in facilities management, logistics, work processing, spreadsheet and database software. Ability to work with individuals from different viewpoints and positions while utilizing teamwork in daily activities. Valid US or Canadian driver's license. We are Purdue University Northwest, part of the internationally-respected Purdue University system and the fifth-largest public university in the state of Indiana On February 26, 2014, Purdue University announced a plan to unify the administration of the university’s two northwest Indiana campuses, Purdue Calumet and Purdue North Central. On July 18, 2014, the Purdue Board of Trustees approved Purdue University Northwest as the name of the unified Calumet and North Central campuses. Dr. Thomas Keon, Chancellor of Purdue Calumet, was appointed Chancellor-Designate of Purdue Northwest on November 20, 2015. Once unification is complete, Purdue Northwest will be a comprehensive university enrolling more than 15,000 students, employing more than 1,500 faculty and staff, and offering more than 70 graduate and undergraduate programs of study on two campuses.
