What you’ll be doing...
Provide maintenance and repair support to key infrastructure facilities within Verizon's network organization. Manage daily, monthly, semiannual, and annual maintenance schedules as well as vendor provided services.
Perform maintenance on Verizon infrastructure.
Perform and/or manage vendor repairs on all HVAC, Generators, Switchgear, UPSs, Fire Suppression, Lighting, Security, DC Switches, and AC Electrical systems.
Ensure Verizon standards are implemented in everyday activities.
Ensure Verizon continues to meet all OSHA, State and Federal Environmental Standards/Laws and Best Practices.
Create new ways, as well as maintain Verizon's existing efforts to support carbon footprint reduction across the network.
Maintain equipment used to support Verizon`s disaster relief efforts, such as generators, HVAC, both portable and stationary.
Maintain Verizon`s Building Management Systems (CSI, TAC, JCI, Midwatch).
Maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your team and the network.
Security background investigation for customer site access may be required.
May be required to drive vehicle with a manual gearshift.
Must be able to perform physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation, including, but not limited to, perceiving differences in wire cable colors, moving and/or lifting items such as ladders, tools, air tanks, cable reels, test equipment and other objects weighing up to 100 pounds, working aloft; climbing ladders and poles, and entering tunnels, buildings, trenches, crawl spaces, manholes, and other confined spaces to accomplish job tasks.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or one or more year of work experience.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Valid driver's license.
Even better if you have:
A degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience and capability to perform routine and preventative maintenance for multiple facilities in the areas of AC/DC power, UPSs, Fire Suppression, Lighting, HVAC, Generators, Chillers and Mechanical Journeyman status.
Ten or more years of commercial HVAC / mechanical troubleshooting experience.
EPA Refrigeration certification.
Licenses to work with refrigerants, service knowledge.
Liebert/York/etc. factory training.
Chilled water systems including, chillers, pumps, cooling towers and associated control valves, piping and operating controls.
Diagnosing/Trouble Shooting centrifugal and screw technology chillers and associated system components.
Knowledge of rigging equipment and safe rigging techniques.
Ability to analyze and interpret equipment log reports.
Ability to diagnose and resolve operational problems.
Large rooftop package direct expansion equipment (Intellipak).
Commercial air handling units and exhaust systems.
DDC controls knowledge.
Ability to read electrical schematic and/or control diagrams, read blue prints.
Ability to trouble shoot electrical mechanical systems.
Knowledge of DC Plants.
Willingness to be on call for long periods at a time.
