Overview / Responsibilities
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions’ Phoenix office has an has an immediate opening for a Facility Condition Assessor
with detailed knowledge and experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, interior, exterior, and/or roofing systems on a wide-range of buildings and complex facilities. We seek candidates with a strong desire to be a part of a fast-growing business line with a multi-national and results-oriented culture firm.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Perform assessments of client facilities using professional expertise and judgment to determine physical condition with specifications and building codes
Ability to understand a project work plan and execute based on a client’s requirements
Use computer tablets with built-in cameras to identify and document building equipment and components of a building and provide justification for determination of the physical condition
Work under direct supervision and in accordance with instructions and standard practices; Willingness to collaborate with project team members and be a team player
Assess multiple buildings within large complexes on a daily basis identifying major components and sub-components as well as supporting systems
Skills / Qualifications
BA/BS or equivalent experience in Facilities Management, Construction, Architecture, or associated engineering field is preferred, but not required
A minimum of two-year technical college or trade school certification in one of the building trades
Experience using mobile computer system devices for field data collection
Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Familiarity with mobile computer applications
Good mathematical aptitude
Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines
Good technical writing skills
Capacity to review available building information and drawings to determine building construction and evaluate whether existing systems are adequate for current building use and needs
Identifying and developing facility repair and replacement options to satisfy the project objectives
Will require travel, often assignments lasting several weeks, and work flexible hours
Must work well with team members and deal with customers in a positive manner
A minimum of 5 years of experience conducting facility condition assessments
Ability to climb ladders and stairs and perform moderate physical activity such as walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching pushing and pulling
Be able to pass a background check and a drug test
Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and provide and provide own transportation to and from project sites at the local level
