The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Epidemiology & Public Health Department has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Project Coordinator position. Incumbent provides project coordination and services related to construction projects of varying complexity, to include renovations, maintenance projects and preparation of design documents, specifications, and estimates. Assists with the development of project scopes, budgets and timelines. Plans and coordinates administrative tasks to include facilitating project logistics such as scheduling meetings, conference rooms, conference calls, equipment, meeting minutes, filing and answering phones. Processes purchase orders, invoices and other documents. Coordinates the bid/award activities for construction and design contracts and manages the construction by hiring, directing and coordinating the activities of General Contractors, Designers, and other technical service personnel. Communicates and provides reports to various stakeholders to detail project progress, schedules, and quality. Addresses issues that arise. Reviews plans and ensures plans and specifications meet the requirements of the contract documents and University standards, Coordinates project close-out activities. Manages and tracks the design and construction budget, as well as project permits. Coordinates the start-up of major utilities and equipment and the relocation of occupants into the finished space. Conducts site visits to observe and document progress of construction. Performs other duties as assigned.
The minimum requirement are: High School Diploma ans one (1) year of relevant work experience. Bachelor degree preferred. Interfaces with faculty, senior administrative personnel, staff, physical plant staff and students. Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and schedules. Excellent computer skills required. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work under minimal direction. Any appropriate combination

Patient safety is a top priority.
