Profile

WAREHOUSE and DELIVERY MANAGER

This position consists of managing the warehouse operations and delivery and installation function and crew of high end home furnishings and custom interior design business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivery Preparation – Manage the preparation of client deliveries ensuring all merchandise has proper paperwork, client and designer requirements are properly understood, and furnishings are free of damage

Designer and Client Assistance - Assist designers and clients with packaging and getting merchandise to and out of their vehicles

Fleet Vehicle Maintenance – ensure that vehicles are cleaned inside and out and maintained with proper supplies as well as the coordination of oil changes and other vehicle maintenance

Assist with furniture moves for store displays

Installation – Manage the delivery and set-up of furniture per floor plan and direction of Interior Designer. Hanging artwork, mirrors, blinds, draperies, shutters, etc. ensuring items are clean and polished and client is satisfied upon completion

Also may require

Inventory - Participate in inventory control

Load – Manage and ensure the proper loading of delivery vehicle with all furnishings and necessary installation supplies

Maintenance - Basic building maintenance

Payment Collection & Processing - Collect and process client payments to be collected upon delivery

Receiving – Manage and ensure the proper receiving, opening, inspecting, photographing, logging and warehousing incoming merchandise both from vendor as well as returns from lients’ homes

Repair Coordination (external) - Manage the coordination of repair of damaged stock and client repair claims to resolution working with vendor and/or repair service as required

Repairs (internal) –Perform basic furniture repair at homes and in store (touch-ups, buffing, removing or dismantling to ensure items fit) working with Scheduler to ensure scheduling is properly arranged

Scheduling – Manage the scheduling of all client deliveries and building maintenance requests

Shipping – Manage shipments to include securing and communicating quotes, packing, and tracking

Staffing - Manage warehouse and delivery staff ensure proper levels while ensuring alignment with department payroll budget

Warehouse Management - Lead the organization of on-site and off-site warehouse and dock to include inventory and store supplies and equipment ensuring good system for inventory identification

Waste Management - Ensure regular disposal of warehouse and business trash and recycling, both inside and around the outside of the building and surrounding grounds

Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Ability to multi-task

Ability to work well within a team environment

Ability to drive a cargo van and delivery truck (straight-truck)

Attention to detail

Basic math skills

Basic repair and fabrication skills

Clean driving record

Computer skills and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, and Excel

Excellent attendance and punctuality

Excellent communication skills

Excellent customer service

Excellent follow-through and follow-up

Experience and skill with using hand and power tools

Experience or aptitude with handling, lifting, and maneuvering, heavy high-end merchandise

Flexibility and adaptability

Occasional over time and overnight assignments may be required

Proactive and takes initiative in seeking opportunities for improvements and to provide support and assistance

Professional appearance and attitude

Strong organization and time management skills

Supervisory experience required

Work week Tuesday thru Saturday
