This is an incredibly exciting time to join the Homes and Global Distribution team at Honeywell! Homes and Global Distribution is a leader in the home heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) controls and security markets, and a leading global distributor of security and fire protection products. In 2018, Honeywell will be spinning off the Homes and Global Distribution business into a stand-alone, publicly traded company. The Facilities Maintenance Engineer will plan, direct, and coordinate activities concerned with design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, building systems and construction projects in an industrial plant setting using engineering principles and safety regulations. You will provide a safe working environment for all employees and visitors to our facility. The Facilities Maintenance Engineer will direct maintenance of plant buildings and coordinate requirements for construction projects, production line rearrangements, energy savings, and safety improvements. You will review subcontract communications with union trades. You will respond to emergency situations, know who to contact and get repairs done as soon as possible. The Facilities Maintenance Engineer will need to be available by phone at all hours of the day and make decisions about building alarms/situations. You will need to be willing to work weekends and holidays if the job requires it. You will need to be able to communicate and work with outside contractors, consulting engineers, Golden Valley city officials, GRC insurance, building inspectors, and the fire department on building and fire system projects. You will estimate facilities work orders and provide a scope of work for projects. Investigate plant safety and building issues, and come up with a root cause to repair and eliminate the issue. You will need to be able to make decisions based on facts and experience. You will need to listen to others and use their input when making decisions. You will need to be able to design exhaust hood ventilation systems.You will promote vision, direction, and leadership for the development and implementation of process improvements and lean initiatives through the use of Lean/Six Sigma tools and the Honeywell Operating System (HOS).The Facilities Maintenance Engineer will drive Honeywell Operating System (HOS) sustainability at the factory level by implementing Lean/Six Sigma tools and techniques to factory processes and procedures, leading to more streamline and reliable production process and procedures to drive improvements in areas such as cost, quality, and safety

* MUST HAVE: *
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Civil engineering) or 15 years of plant engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum of four years’ experience as a Plant/Project engineer.
Competent in AutoCAD to provide plant layouts for production line rearrangements and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work alongside Facilities skilled trades, union hourly employees, factory supervision and engineers to resolve problems and improve safety and the work environment.
Understand building utility systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, steam, and air-conditioning.
