Description Performs (skilled) work in the fabrication, maintenance, repair and finishing of buildings, utility systems, cabinetry, furniture and equipment. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details. Duties The essential duties for this job include: Coordinate, schedule and monitor work of contractors. Maintains and repairs HVAC, plumbing, and electricalu00a0systems Assists in overseeing the district headquarters warehouse operations including receiving, storing, and issuing of stock. Maintains files of building and grounds maintenance requests. Drives to monitor building maintenance, condition of equipment and service contracts at headquarters and other district locations. Performs general building maintenance and repairs; as required, moves material and equipment associated with this essential duty. Performs periodic preventive maintenance on heating, ventilating, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing systems. Provides estimate of man-hours for fabrication, maintenance and repair projects. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. Education This job requires the following: High School Graduation or Equivalent in general high school studies Work Experience This job requires the following: General Maintenance Tech I 2 years inu00a0fabrication, maintenance, repair and finishing of buildings, utility systems, cabinetry, furniture, equipment or related activities Experience can be satisfied by full-time or prorated part-time equivalent No Supervisory Experience Required Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on year per year basis. General Maintenance Tech II 3u00a0years inu00a0fabrication, maintenance, repair of buildings, utility systems, cabinetry, furniture, equipment or related activities Experience can be satisfied by full-time or prorated part-time equivalent No Supervisory Experience Required Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on year per year basis. Licenses and Certifications The following Licenses and Certifications are required for this job: Valid Driver's License Safety Impact Certificate issued on the first date of hire Safety Impact certifications are not required at the time of application. As required, the Safety Impact certification will be issued by TxDOT at the time of hire. Other Conditions: This position isu00a0a Safety Impact by responsibilities andu00a0it will be subject to random drug testing.
