GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for managing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities and the facilities team.
Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout, and facility expansion.
Plan budgets and schedule facility modifications, including cost estimates.
Maintain team performance by evaluating, hiring, training, coaching, disciplining and motivating; initiating disciplinary action when appropriate.
Set department schedules and work assignments to expedite work flow.
Inspect construction and installation progress.
Initiate planned maintenance programs for a variety of office equipment.
Manage preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC and lab equipment.
Oversee the parking program.
Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of all facilities.
Assist in the development and administration of the annual budget.
Coordinate building and grounds maintenance and repairs that affect normal building operation.
Provide occupants with updates of electrical, water and other service outages and scheduled shutdowns.
Request special janitorial services.
Stay informed of changes to space assignments in all facilities.
Coordinate department facility related activities and projects.
Participate in the development and implementation of facility emergency plans.
During evacuations, assist emergency response teams in assessing building condition, locating missing personnel, shutting off utilities, and delivering a status report to assembly point leaders.
Establish and maintain department SOP’s and ensure compliance.
Be proactive in bringing ideas to management’s attention to improve productivity, service, quality, policies and procedures, cost savings, and utilization of company resources.
Continuously improve management skills through in-house training, self-study methods, and other available training resources.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with CRL’s policies and applicable laws.
Maintain and protect the confidentiality of all CRL and client information.
Be able to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.

years of experience in a maintenance field
2 years supervisory experience

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and the coordination of labor and resources.
Constant walking about work areas and between buildings; lifting up to 50 lbs; frequent physical exertion.
P.C., back brace, ladders, moveable staircase, forklift, dolly, pallet jack, box truck, hand tools and power tools.
This is an on-call position requiring the ability to work during non-standard hours to include nights and weekends as needed. Working conditions can involve exposure to heat, dust, oils, fumes/odors, and noise. Forklift operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift training program within the first 30 days of employment. Forklift operator requires minimum age of 18 years.
