GENERAL SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE: Assures that those who come to and visit the Archbishop Brunett Retreat & Faith Formation Center are extended with warm welcome and orientation ensuring them a wonderful faith-filled experience. Performs administrative assistant related functions as needed. ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES: 1. Collaborates with the Facilities Manager and other staff in carrying out the mission of the Retreat Centers. This includes not only prompt attention to facilities needs but also taking initiative to understand the mission and apply it to their area of responsibility and serves as resource to the staff in the areas of facilities operation while maintaining the knowledge and skills needed to effectively perform duties. 2. Painting, pressure washing, landscape maintenance. 3. Provides for any emergency maintenance needs. This is accomplished by being available for emergency repairs and to perform any related work or contacting competent assistance to handle emergency maintenance. 4. Collaborates with other staff members to provide for special hospitality needs. This is accomplished by assisting in the set up of group needs i.e. moving tables & chairs, etc., and being present for specific groups as requested by the Director. Also assists with the direction of parking logistics and overflow parking of the Retreat Center when large groups are present. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Primary: a) Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop. b) Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church in support of the collaboration between lay and ordained Ministers. 2) Education: a) High School graduate 3) Experience: a) Some experience in maintenance work to include buildings-facilities-equipment-grounds maintenance as well as janitorial\/custodial services; painting, etc. 4) Other Elements: a) Excellent communications and interpersonal skills including the ability to work with a variety of persons in multicultural settings. b) Knowledge of and familiarity with the Catholic Church in Western Washington, highly preferred. c) Ability to be available for emergencies and for other maintenance and safety related issues and problems.
