As a Facilities Engineer (Territory Engineering Manager) within PNC's Realty Services organization, you can be based in the Charlotte, NC, Columbia, SC, Atlanta, GA or Orlando, FL markets.

The PNC Bank MEP Team is a specialized segment of the Realty Services Operations Group. The MEP team is responsible for the specification, design, construction, operations and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and life safety systems within 3400 buildings across 31 million square feet of space. The Engineering and Life Safety Managers on the MEP team act as internal consultants, project managers, problem solvers and disaster recovery specialists in support of the entire Operations Team. Our managers are most often leading efforts such as equipment capital replacements, mechanical and electrical system retrofits, critical systems test and maintenance, data center operations, business continuity and disaster recovery, risk management, and new construction design and commissioning support. The team consists of 9 individuals strategically located across the PNC footprint.

Due to responsibilities of the role this job requires 30-50% travel capability and flexibility on scheduling/on-call hours.

Job Description

Performs routine to complex engineering projects throughout a portfolio of properties.

Manages all aspects of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fire safety projects. Directs and coordinates activities of outside engineers and contractors required for project completion.

Ensures conformance to all municipal codes.

Prepares electrical, mechanical, plumbing or fire safety budgets. Manages resources and materials within budget. Prepares capital expense project plan.

Ensures that all assigned building infrastructures are safe and functional through testing and product specification/maintenance.

Problem Solving – Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Project Management – Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources, to achieve project objectives.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems – Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing and resolving technical (mechanical, electrical, systems or operational) problems.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5 years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
