Job Description *


Responsible for all aspects of Facilities Engineering and Maintenance at the LPC campus.

Responsibilities include direction and leadership of Maintenance and Facilities Engineering teams, all process equipment(repair, maintenance, and reliability), budgetary responsibility of cost centers related to the maintenance and up-keep of the facilities (both fixed and capital), spares inventory, energy improvement projects, environmental/regulatory compliance, certification compliance (NADCAP, ISO, etc), safety compliance (OSHA and internal), site security, project management (new equipment installations and new equipment design), equipment specifications and standards, vendor management, process control, local computerized maintenance management database, and department best practices and SOP’s.

Additional responsibilities involve maximizing operations workflow efficiency by analyzing layout of facility, equipment, workflow, process methods, work force utilization and workplace safety to determine facility optimization. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

Personnel Management:

➢ Lead by example, starting with Safety.

➢ Lead a diverse group of engineers to develop timely, robust, solutions .

➢ Lead a diverse group of maintenance personnel to service the facilities.

➢ Develop subordinates.

➢ Develop metrics and insure performance of areas within scope of influence.

Budget Management:

➢ Develop, track, and maintain capital plan for the facility.

➢ Develop, track, and maintain variable budgets for the facility.

Project Management:

➢ Develop, justify, and track capital and expense project plans, budgets, and timelines for the facility.

➢ Maintain equipment specifications and verify all installations adhere to specifications.

➢ Work with purchasing to obtain quotes and initiate purchase request.

➢ Manage vendors.

➢ Ensure environmental rules and regulations are in compliance.

➢ Ensure safety rules and regulations are in compliance.

➢ Supervises/Schedules and assigns work to meet completion date(s).

➢ Maintains projects within budgets.

➢ Maintain customer satisfaction

Manufacturing Support:

➢ Develop and design new equipment

➢ Retrofit existing equipment to support operations

➢ Plans area layout and re-arrangements

➢ Investigate and qualify new technologies

➢ Work with department Managers/Supervisors to identify and recommend new methods to improve organizational performances.

➢ Ensures regulatory compliance with State, Federal and Local authorities.

➢ Responsible for maintaining certifications for ISO, NADCAP, and customers.

Plant Maintenance:

➢ Manage preventative, predictive, and emergency maintenance of the facilities.

➢ Manage automation and support.

➢ Emergency coordination/response for the facility.

➢ Track and manage utilities both usage and billing

➢ Manage energy improvement projects (design, application, budget, and installation)

➢ Manage efficiency improvement projects for all facility related equipment.

➢ Manage general building maintenance and upgrades.

➢ Manage, develop, and specify vendor contracts for site support/work.

➢ Manage the safety, quality, cost, delivery, and environmental outcomes of all contract work at site.

➢ Supervises, coordinates and reviews the work of a staff of engineers, design draftspersons, contract personnel, and Maintenance Manager.

➢ Manage Central Stores and inventory.

➢ Manage site Security.


➢ Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

➢ Must have working knowledge of a large factory.

➢ Must have good mechanical and electrical aptitude, and working knowledge of foundry equipment.

➢ Must have experience in equipment repair, maintenance, and design.

➢ Must have experience with managing environmental compliance projects and issues.

➢ Must have experience dealing with regulators.

➢ Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering or related field.

➢ 10 Years experience in facilities and maintenance.

➢ 5 Years experience running large projects.

➢ 5 Years experience in Team Leadership responsibilities.

➢ Computer literate in CAD/Excel/Microsoft Word.

➢ Professional Engineering registration is desired.
