Summary: Responsible for renovations, alterations, modifications, and installations, repairs, support, and general end-user assistance. Assist in the design and layout of electrical and mechanical systems. Develop solutions and implement corrective actions as needed. Provide general facilities assistance when required. Use trade knowledge to maintain and improve plant facilities. Incorporate technologies from various other industries to solve problems and create solutions for the lab environment. Work alone or as part of a team. Lab renovations, new equipment installations, electrical, plumbing, HVAC controls, special projects. 24/7 emergency response. Provide electrical & mechanical equipment upgrades as requested. Essential Functions of the Job: - Plans, organizes, and coordinates daily tasks for self and Facilities Assistant, Electrical - Provides support services for electrical and mechanical systems and develops solutions when needed. - Performs facilities work requests utilizing computerized IWMS and documenting work product. - Installs new electrical systems as required - Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs data lines - Relocates and] or repairs equipment as needed - Provide general office and lab support as needed - Provide specialized support services as needed for PMPD and Vivarium areas - Performs facilities work requests utilizing computerized IWMS and documenting work product.. - Assists with lab renovations/relocations, including moving equipment, supplies, coordinating tasks with end users, creating and resolving punch-lists, installing misc equipment, and coordinates outside contractors / BMR staff as needed. - Provides general facilities assistance and support services throughout site. - Participates in departmental meetings - Utilize, repair, and install controls as needed - Assist with company functions when needed - Available 24/7 for emergency response Other Duties and Responsibilities: - Operate rented equipment - Operate company vehicles - Assist with company functions when needed Experience: Required Skills: - Associates Degree - 10 Years of related work experience - Extensive training and/or related work experience in the electrical trade at a senior level for more than 5 years - Valid New York State drivers license - Fork lift operations certificate a plus - will provide training - Demonstrated electrical, mechanical, some HVAC knowledge, and repair abilities. - Ability to manage multiple complicated priorities/tasks - Exhibit excellent judgment and decision-making skills - Computer literate - Ability to interface with all types of mechanical and construction contractors - Knowledgeable in all phases of electrical / mechanical construction and building maintenance - Excellent customer service skills - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate daily tasks and project participation Driving Record: This position requires a clear driving record at the time of employment. Employee will also be responsible for maintaining a clean driving record as defined by Regeneron's Fleet Safety Policy throughout employment. Employee will be required to attend a Defensive Driving Course offered by Regeneron; employee will also be required to sign off on the company's Fleet Safety Policy & Procedures. Employee is required to report any incident that may result in points to one's license at the time of the infraction. Any infractions on the employee's driving record must be reported to their Supervisor and the E.H.S. Department immediately. Failure to meet these driving requirements may result in disciplinary action up to and/or including termination. Required Special Equipment and/or Programs: Table saw, drill press, meters, gauges, scales, hand tools, hand dolly, motor vehicles, desktop computer - PC, IWMS system, Acetylene torch, power tools, heavy equipment, owned and rented equipment, threading tools, electrical tools, fabrication tools etc. Circuit tracer, Volt/Ohm meter, Fluke 620 LAN cable meter, forklift, pallet jack, Qxy / Acetylene Torch, Hand truck, general power tools, screw drivers, wrenches, saws, wire pulling, marking, tracing equipment. Software - Outlook, Excel, Word.
