The Assistant Custodial Manager at The Methodist supervises the operations of the Environmental Services (EVS) Department during the 2nd shift including productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position will directly manage 35-40 FTEs covering floor care, public areas, OR and dialysis units. Maintains required preventive policies, procedures and JCAHO requirements. Promotes a safe work environment. Specifically, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
Manage, train and develop staff members. Responds to requests of Custodial Manager and Facility Manager (if applicable). Schedule and plan employee work assignments/projects. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment. Utilize quality indicator measures to ensure highest standard of cleaning in the facility. Rounds on staff and customers on a regular basis. Conduct weekly staff meetings. Conduct inspections according to department standards using a hand-held device. Plan and implement monthly floor care/carpet care projects. Maintains compliance with ARAMARK's standards of operation. Adheres to ARAMARK's Business Conduct Policy at all times. Maintains all records and reports to ensure compliance, with all local, stated and federal regulations and codes. Maintains compliance with all requirements of Federal, State and local regulations and guidelines including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years of management experience in housekeeping/custodial/environmental services (EVS) or customer service industry. JCAHO and OSHA knowledge strongly preferred. Skilled in supporting and motivating staff. Working knowledge of infection control techniques. Strong communication (listening, verbal and written), customer-service, organization and planning skills. Ability to work well with others at all levels. Complete knowledge of pertinent regulatory agencies and the policies, codes, standards, and regulations that applies to the healthcare environment. Interpret and follow technical instructions; complete assignments timely; showing a sense of urgency. Availability to work every other weekend.
